Art — I don’t hold much hope for Oven Head Smokers / Ossies / McKays Blueberries / Smiths or any of those businesses —nothing on the highway to really say ‘Here we are folks ‘ , I think the province should be making concessions on sign design and also assisting them wih sign costs —they’re taking a beating through no fault of their own and many jobs are going down the tubes !

Agreed……I believe we still can capture these returns, this area has so much to offer, if people choose to offer it. St A can’t even come to an agreement on whether or not they need a Chamber, let alone present itself as a destination with everyone pulling in the same direction…..but who am I preaching to…..:)

You are right Jeff. The reference to Anne simply referred to the lack of NB information while you are going there. It could equally have been NS and Peggy’s Cove. Unfortunately not everyone plans or has access to the internet. In the far distant past we were able to capture returnees at the very least. Now?? Certainly travelling the new highway gave me a very “empty” feeling.

good morning Art……I do agree with some of what you are saying. respectfully, I have to say, that people travelling to Anne were going there before they left home. I do most of my research on travelling before heading out these days. The more info I can find on interesting things to do along the way, the better the trip. Gateway villages and signage have become secondary to a well thought out web presence. Unfortunately, communities in these parts aren’t found online…..and in a sense, don’t exist to travelers.

In that paper, p. 294, it is reported that North American Bison hair had
been found in an excavation in Greenland. Pat Sutherland also said that
this was confirmed in her Oct. 7, 2012 talk.
