Bohemian Waxwing on Japanese crab
I awoke this morning to a beautiful white wonderland of white fluffy snow. Poking through this blanket of white lace, the red fruit of our Japanese crabs stood out in stark contrast … as did the dozen or so Bohemian Waxwings that have been feeding on them for several weeks now.
Finally I was able to get photos of these spectacularly beautiful birds, the cousins of the Cedar Waxwings
that feed on the apple blossoms in the Fundy spring. It inspired me to create the digital painting above.
