ILQW was not created to be involved as an activist vehicle. It has the very specific purpose of celebrating the beauty of the Quoddy Region. However, the current proposals for LNG terminal development in the Quoddy Region, clearly threaten this special ecosystem and the long-term sustainability of this special place. So occasionally, we will bring some events to your attention if we feel that it is sufficiently important.
This is the last day for submissions to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) relative to Downeast LNG Inc.’s draft Environmental Impact Statement.
Many individuals and groups have sent in important and vital responses to this proposal for an LNG terminal at Robbinston, Maine, but, the response from Shems Dunkiel Raubvogel and; Saunders PLLC, for the Three-Nation Alliance (Nulankeyutomonen Nkihtahkomikumon (We Take Care of Our Land), Save Passamaquoddy Bay-Canada, Inc., and Save Passamaquoddy Bay-U.S., Inc., as well as the submission by the Province of New Brunswick, should be particularly reassuring for citizens living in coastal Quoddy’s international community. The work they have done is thorough, professional, and compelling. Congratulations to all of those involved.
