January 2–5

Ingalls Head feeders
I’m down to about 12 Mourning Doves, up to 8 Blue Jays, 5 American Crows, 2
Common Ravens, 6 Black-capped Chickadees, 4 American Tree and 4 Song
Sparrows, 3+ Dark-eyed Juncos and up to 8 American Goldfinches, but they’re
not all regulars except when it’s snowing.

January 3

White Head ferry 11:40-12:10
Double-crested and 4 Great Cormorants, 45 Common Eiders, male White-winged
and 5 Surf Scoters, 21 Long-tailed Ducks, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, Black

White Village, Beach & Long Point Road 12:10-13:00
Canada Goose (probably has a broken wing; feeds around houses), 2 American
Black Ducks, 25 Common Eiders, Surf Scoter, 6+ Red-breasted Mergansers,
Mourning Dove, 6 Black-capped Chickadees, 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches,
European Starling, 5+ Dark-eyed Juncos

White Head ferry 13:00-13:30
Common Loon, Double-crested and 84 Great Cormorants, 21 Common Eiders, 7
Surf Scoters, 32 Long-tailed Ducks, 5 Red=breasted Mergansers, Black

January 5

Common Loon, 70 American Black Ducks, 48 Mallards, male Northern Pintail, 17
Buffleheads, 9 Common Goldeneyes, Iceland Gull

Subject: First of the Year

We were out fishing yesterday and had a couple Northern Fulmars hanging =
around the boat for an hour or so. One was grey flavored and the other =
was a more common grey and white flavored. We were about 14 miles south =
of Seal Cove.
